As you can see, I've been busy! I haven't included dog walks because I stopped keeping track of them after my HRM got all wonky on me, but I will start again tne next time we walk them. This will hopefully be tonight depending on the weather - supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. I think I might do a treadmill workout tonight if it rains. I need to keep getting those steps in! There are also visits to the dog park this week while I'm off - lucky dogs!
I seem to have reached a plateau with my weight loss...hard not to let myself get discouraged but I'm going to keep working hard and hope it pays off. I may have to start adding treadmill workouts along with my spinning/cycling again, because it seems I lost more when I did both than when I do just one. I'm seriously considering getting into doing 5k run/walks in addition to cycling rides.
I've been able to do a couple of rides with AM, my co-teacher and riding buddy. She intriduced me to a new course out south of my house, some of which goes through Anzalduas Park (which is right on the banks of the Rio Grande River). It's really very pretty and protected from traffic, so we like it. Today, however, we chose to do one 6 mile loop outside the park and BOY did the wind pick up! It's currently gusting from 18-22mph and it was pretty close to that by the time we finished the ride and headed back to our cars - into the wind, mind you. That's one thing about riding down here - we may not have hills, but we sure as hell have wind! I've heard many people say riding in the wind is the best way to train for hills if you don't have hills - if that's truly the case, I'll be more than ready to ride the Austin LIVESTRONG!! Here is a link to the course and elevation of the Austin route: http://www.livestrong.org/atf/cf/%7BD0794917-422C-499C-9C48-9ED3DDC42947%7D/AUS-45M-MAP.PDF YIKES!! Go, legs, go!
That's all I have for now. Time to get some work done around the house!
Optimism Corner: Today is a good day because I have a job that allows me to have time off so I can do other fun things!
Ciao!
